Over the course of its history, digitally managing more than 300,000 meters at its Data Control Center, it has prevented water leaks equivalent to 680 Olympic swimming pools.
The Arson Metering firm, specialized in the remote reading of water and gas meters, has been cooperating with management companies and municipal governments for more than ten years on the digitalization of urban water provisioning, in order to maximize water resource efficiency and usage.
More than 300,000 water meters are digitally managed at its Data Control Center at this time, taking up to 24 daily readings from each one. Through complex alert systems and data analysis, Arson Metering’s technical team tests the proper functioning of all these meters and works in collaboration with management companies and municipalities to promote efficiency and increase savings.
Among the most immediate benefits achieved is the resolution of the critical problem of leak control, which seriously affects water supply networks lacking remote reading detection in this regard. Arson Metering statistics indicate that, on average, 7% of domestic meters feature water leaks, which have been detected and stopped in time thanks to the effective action protocols of management companies.
The company calculates that the resolution of these leaks at 21,000 homes has saved some 1.7 million cubic meters of water, a volume equivalent to 680 Olympic swimming pools. If these leaks had not been detected, all this water would have been wasted and, in addition, its cost would have been passed on to customers.
In these cases coordination by the Arson Metering Data Control Center teams and the management companies’ technicians is key. At the control center they are specialists in the early detection of these problems and, when they happen, the management team is immediately notified, which, in turn, contacts the customers affected, and takes the necessary actions to solve them very quickly.
Most of the leaks are detected shortly after the implementation of the remote reading system, taking a first and important step in supply improvement, which continues through the continuous monitoring of consumption, the detection of possible incidents, and the analysis of data, producing water balance reports and others that facilitate decision-making to enhance savings.
Arson Metering positions itself as a consulting partner on the implementation of remote reading solutions. Its projects are based on a prior analysis of the situation, the selection of the best technology, and its implementation, with the constant support of its Data Control Center for the proper functioning of facilities.
It also boasts a remote reading system featuring LoRaWAN technology, universal for all manufacturers and meters and characterized by obtaining 100% of data, under all conditions, without the need for a broadband or electric connection, and with minimum energy expenditure.
